Grow, Not Compete

I posted a tweet on X this morning -

“Never in competition because the goal is to be a better me, not a better you.”

I received this response from my friend and connection: Jared Robin -

“Comparison is the thief of joy.”

I responded by saying -

“The only competition is you — the person you look in the mirror — be a better version of you!”

He replied back by saying -

“Ya but you don’t even need to compete vs yourself. Just be”

This really hit me. Like hard. Really hard.

Maybe compete is not the right word.

Growth is really what it is. Your growth.

It is — Grow, not compete.

Just be YOU!

Looking back a few years from now, you should be unrecognizable to your current self — in a good way — because you have come so far and are a much better version of yourself.

That’s the true measure of your growth!
